Following a mutual agreement between the European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS) and the American Medical Association (AMA), European CME credits are valid credits towards the Physicians Recognition Award (PRA).

It means that US doctors with a certificate of attendance of an EACCME accredited activity can present the certificate to the AMA. The AMA will convert the credits into AMA PRA credits valid throughout the US. The process works vice-versa on the condition that the US organiser has informed AMA of the participation of European professionals in its event. The US organiser can then award credit points to European participants.  In order for the European participants to claim the credit points at home, the home country must fully participate in the EACCME system.
